The Underwater Museum in the Bay of Talamone
In the waters of the Bay of Talamone, it is possible to admire the underwater museum of ‘The House of Fish’: an evocative marine forest, with sculptures that ‘live’ on the seabed as a barrier to illegal trawling, which damages the ecosystem.
The project is the brainchild of Paolo Fanciulli, an environmentalist fisherman from the Maremma, and was inaugurated in June 2019 with the lowering into the water of several dozen blocks, but above all the first 15 sculpted works.
It is possible to visit the museum on the water, departing from Albinia or Talamone. For information and reservations, visit the Maremma Excursions website or call +393713837052
From July, the La Casa dei Pesci Museum will host five new sculptures created by five Italian and international artists during the spring months in the olive grove of The Caesar Argentario Osa Resort.
Gitav guests can visit the works until they are put into the sea in July.
