Venice Biennale 2022

A journey through surrealism and fantasy worlds

Venice Biennale 2022

The 59th. International Art Exhibition entitled Il latte dei sogni (The Milk of Dreams), curated by Cecilia Alemani, is organised by the Venice Biennale and chaired by Roberto Cicutto and will take place from 23 April to 23 November.

The exhibition will take place in the Central Pavilion at the Giardini and in the Arsenale, including 213 artists from 58 countries. There are 26 Italian artists, 180 first participations in the International Exhibition, 1433 works and objects on display, 80 new productions.
The title of the Venice Biennale 2022 is The Milk of Dreams and it is inspired by a book of fairy tales by Leonora Carrington, where a world in continuous transformation is told, also through fantastic creatures that the surrealist artist had drawn for her children on the walls of their room.
An inspiration that describes very well the exhibition curated by Cecilia Alemani, where the presence of women and non-binary individuals is dominant for a journey through the metamorphosis of bodies and definitions of the human.

An itinerary defined in three thematic areas: the representation of bodies and their metamorphoses; the relationship between individuals and technologies; the links between bodies and the Earth. Definitely one more reason to enjoy art and stay on the Venice Lido!
Tickets cost €20.00 per person instead of €25.00 by applying directly at the Hotel Venezia 2000 reception desk.
