Experience a summer like no other:

Massa Marittima comes alive with cultural events that turn every evening into a chance to discover something new.

During the summer, the area around our resort fills up with unmissable events – perfect to enrich your holiday with authentic, fun experiences deeply rooted in local culture.

Among the most anticipated events is Lirica in Piazza, scheduled from August 3rd to 5th at 9:15 PM in the unique setting of Piazza Garibaldi, overlooked by the magnificent Cathedral of San Cerbone. Each night, a great opera classic: Turandot on August 3rd, L’elisir d’amore on the 4th, and Aida on the 5th.
A unique opportunity to enjoy world-class open-air performances under the starry skies of the Maremma.

For those who love exploring historic places, every Wednesday and Friday evening until September 13th, don’t miss the evening guided tours with aperitif at the Torre del Candeliere, starting at 8:30 PM. Led by expert guides, you’ll climb to the top of the tower, admire the view over the rolling hills at sunset, and enjoy an aperitif in a relaxed, evocative atmosphere.
An original way to discover the village from a different perspective, blending culture and relaxation.

Families with children will love the creative workshops at the Civic Museums – fun and educational activities available from June to September. These workshops include building medieval castles, making ancient coins or Roman lamps using simple materials and explanations suitable even for young kids. A perfect way to learn through play, in safe and welcoming spaces.

The highlight of local tradition awaits on Sunday, August 10th at 9:30 PM with the Balestro del Girifalco, the area’s most important historical reenactment. Step back into the Middle Ages with costumed parades, musicians, flag-throwers, and a crossbow competition between the three city districts. The whole town joins in, creating a truly immersive atmosphere – an event to experience at least once in a lifetime, especially if you want to see the most authentic side of Massa Marittima.

For lovers of contemporary art, the Massa Marittima Art Festival returns from July 20th to 27th with performances every evening at 9:00 PM in the charming Chiostro di Sant’Agostino. Hosting artists from all over Italy, the festival offers a blend of theatre, dance, visual installations, and music in an elegant and atmospheric setting.

Taking part in these events is not only a way to experience something special, but also to get to know the surrounding area in a deeper, more authentic way. After a relaxing day by the pool, treat yourself to a different kind of evening: walk among ancient walls, listen to music under the stars, and be inspired by live shows and stories from the past.
