Summer in Venice is an experience you will hardly forget. Imagine strolling through calli and campielli, while the sun shines on the waters of the canals, creating golden reflections dancing on the historic palazzi. Your Venetian adventure can begin at St Mark’s Square, the beating heart of the city. Here, surrounded by the magnificence of St Mark’s Basilica, you can admire the golden mosaics that tell ancient stories. A gastronomic tour cannot be missed. Venice is famous for its bacari, the traditional bars where you can enjoy cicchetti, small snacks accompanied by a good glass of wine.
Finally, taking the vaporetto along the Grand Canal is the best way to see some of the most beautiful palaces in Venice, such as the Ca’ d’Oro Palace and Ca’ Rezzonico, and cross famous bridges such as the Rialto Bridge.
The Lido di Venezia, a thin island separating the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea, is famous for its sandy beaches, such as the public beach of San Nicolò, an ideal place for a day of sun and sea. The waters are calm and inviting for swimming, and the pace of life is more relaxed, perfect for a rejuvenating break.
The Lido also offers the opportunity to practice water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing, to rent a bicycle to explore the seafront, to go birdwatching or hiking in the Alberoni Nature Reserve.
