When summer arrives, Rome is not only about monuments and sunsets over the Imperial Fora.

The city turns into a huge open-air stage, where Italian and international artists take turns performing in historic arenas, auditoriums and large outdoor venues.

From rock concerts to major international voices, from pop and jazz to singer-songwriter music, summer in Rome offers events that can accompany every evening with a different soundtrack.
Here is how to make the most of the music festival season in the Capital.

1. Rock in Roma: the great arena of the Roman summer
• From 9 June to 18 July 2026, Rock in Roma returns, one of the most eagerly awaited music events of the Italian summer. The heart of the festival is the Ippodromo delle Capannelle, alongside a number of special dates at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone.

• The festival offers more than a month of concerts with Italian and international artists, ranging from rock to pop, from urban music to singer-songwriter performances. Among the names announced for 2026 are The Offspring, Counting Crows, Mumford & Sons, OneRepublic, Caparezza, Negramaro, Emma, Mannarino and Gemitaiz.

• Unlike traditional festivals, Rock in Roma is not concentrated into a single weekend: each concert is an event in itself, allowing you to choose the perfect evening and enjoy Rome during the day as well.

• Events mainly take place in the evening, with concerts around 9:00 pm; for some dates, such as Caparezza, gates are scheduled to open from 5:00 pm, with the concert starting at 9:45 pm.

2. Roma Summer Fest: music between the stars and contemporary architecture
• From 13 May to 15 September 2026, the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone hosts Roma Summer Fest, one of the most important music festivals in Europe.

• The striking Cavea, designed by Renzo Piano, becomes the centre of a programme that crosses different genres, styles and generations.

• The 2026 calendar includes artists such as John Legend, Diana Krall, Kool & The Gang, Mac DeMarco, Serena Brancale, Fiorella Mannoia and Levante, together with more than seventy concerts and special performances.

• It is the perfect place for those who love experiencing music in a more intimate setting, with excellent acoustics and open-air summer evenings.
Roma Summer Fest is the choice for those looking for artistic quality, major international names and elegant atmospheres.

3. Roma tra un concerto e l’altro: notti, piazze e aperitivi
• One of the most beautiful aspects of Rome’s festivals is what happens before and after the shows. Dinner in Trastevere, an aperitif in Ponte Milvio or an evening stroll between Piazza Navona and the Pantheon become part of the experience.

• Days can begin with a visit to the city’s great classics and end in front of a stage, turning a simple concert into a weekend full of emotion.

• Rome in summer has a special atmosphere: its squares come alive until late, and music becomes the thread that connects evenings that are always different.

This is the choice for those who want to experience Rome not just as spectators, but as the protagonists of their own journey.

It is not just a concert, it is the way you choose to experience Rome.
